NCW says no to dilution of anti-dowry law

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 24: The National Commission for Women (NCW) and
womens' groups have again rejected suggestions to dilute the anti-
dowry law, saying it would be an insult to thousands of women who
are killed by greedy in-laws.
The Commission, which kicked off consultations for reviewing the
Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, rather asserted that the law needs to
be made more stringent.
Justice Malimath in his report on review of the criminal justice
system had suggested that Section 498A be made bailable and non-
compoundable as it was being misused too.
``Demands are made from the woman's family by in-laws for years
after the marriage and this does not constitute dowry under existing
laws,'' NCW chairperson Girija Vyas said.
``For this reason the NCW wants that the very definition of dowry be
widened.''
The consultations were attended by chairpersons of all the state
women commissions, directors-general of police, and NGOs engaged in
ensuring women their rights.
``The meeting rejected, in one voice, the suggestion to make bride-
burning a bailable and non-compoundable crime,'' Vyas told the
Express. ``In fact, we are doubly sure now that Section 498A is the
only weapon to avenge the killing of women for dowry.''
Speakers at the meeting said, ``Which law is immune to being
misused, and why target a pro-women legislation?''
However, Vyas said the government could streamline the
implementation of dowry laws to minimise misuse. Vyas said that even
today, ``the bulk of criminal cases pertaining to women are about
dowry''.
The key points raised at the meeting:
Massive overhauling of anti-dowry laws to address to the changing
times where greedy in-laws have found new ways to circumvent
existing laws
Members of legislatures, and public servants should be made to
sign a mandatory declaration that they have not asked for dowry at
the time of their of children's marriage
Men and women holding public offices should conduct marriages
without vulgar display of wealth
A woman who has slapped charges of dowry harassment on her in-laws
should be free to go to court where her parents reside
Strict guidelines should be issued to the police for investigation
cases of dowry deaths on the lines of one existing for custodial
deaths.

If the NCW is honorable and really wants gender-equality:
1. DOWRY and SOWRY harassment should be placed on an equal footing in legal terms
2. Domestic Violence has to be defined as abuse of any sort by either spouse (husband/wife).
3. Dowry deaths should be investigated like any orther crime.

NCW will be happy if this law send old parents of husband to jail with false complaint.
They want to harass old parents and all relatives of husband.
They do not agree for punishment if this law is misused,just because they want to misuse to do as they wanted.

As per their mandate, they can't dilute the 498A laws. NCW should not be blamed for this. Under the constitution of NCW, they can't go against or violate their own mandate. Instead of blaming NCW for not diluting 498A laws, we must sincerely recommend them to amend the name of their organisation in congruence to their mandate. This will clear everybody's doubt and anger against NCW. The new name of NCW should be National Commission for Legal Terrorism. This is most appropriate name for them and it also clearly reflects its mandate in their constitution.

GENDER DIVIDE
In every matrimonial discord the man is always at fault.
This situation is the creation of feminists NGO's and the
National Commission for Women ( NCW ) funded by Indian
Government, They have crossed the line into a very
dangerous territory.
Their preachings and actions are destroying the joint family values,
and centuries old traditions including joint family system in India.
The Draconian laws passed at their behest are killing
institution of marriage in India.
Men and Women, Boys and Girls will soon stop supporting these
feminists NGO's and NCW for the disaster they have created in
the society.
Once people come to know that their human and individual rights
including their hard earned savings and properties are taken away
under various draconian laws in force at the behest feminist's, they
are bound to wake up and revolt.
The cases of Divorce, Dowry prohibition and 498A are multiplying
in urban areas due to feminists one sided propaganda.
These draconian laws are mostly used and misused in urban areas
consisting 15 % population and affecting upper middle class families,
Non Resident Indians and Persons of Indian Origin as they are
vulnerable to blackmail and extortion including alimony and
maintenance.
Rest of the 85% rural areas mostly have no such problems
as they are very closed societies and are not vulnerable to
the false propaganda and modern feminists preachings.
Rich and Poor families are not affected by these draconian laws
as they sort out these problems themselves with their own methods.
Every case registered under these draconian laws
and Media reporting is sending clear signals to every body including
relatives of victim families, neighbours, generation of school and college
students, young sons and daughters of marriageable age and their
old parents that the marriage is a very dangerous commodity because
of these draconian laws.
One case is sending signals to hundreds and thousands people about
perils of marriage created by these one sided laws, when they see or
hear that entire family sick, old, pregnant and children being arrested
without bail and jailed without any enquiry, verification and investigation.
Ignominy suffered during and prior to trial by the victim families will
be reasons for others to loose faith in institution of marriage.
The percentage of convictions in these cases is miserable 2% after
long trial lasting several years and 98% is harassment and extortion.
These laws have miserably failed and proved mockery of Indian legal
system.These laws have not benefited any woman in the process so
for but proved dangerous to society.
"NCW" is sponsored and funded by government and has been
functioning as " TALIBAN OF INDIA".
"NCW" activists are engaged in gender war, similar to
Afghan Taliban who ruined their country and brought
civil war and perils in Afghanistan.
The difference is that "AFGHAN'S TALIBAN" are women haters.
But the "INDIAN NCW" are men haters.

We have to congratulate the NCW for their cunning/guile and the people they have been conniving with to achieve their ends. How mistressful! How innovative!
All men (except the accusing wife's father and brothers) are dishonest/abusive, and only the accusing wives/daughter-in-laws are honest (and are always the victims). The husband's mother, grandmothers, sisters, sister-in-laws and neices are not women!
These changes to the laws remind me of the 'Emergency' declared by Indira Gandhi (who, along with Indira Jaising, Ambika Soni and Brinda Karat have been at the forefront of the women's movement to misuse the laws). The Communist party and the Socialists (Congress) are a part of the same group of people, though the Congress is more of an exhibitionist. The Congress party (and the Communist too, to some extent) was funded by the Russians. However, the Communists got some additional funds from the Chinese.
Most political parties use the religous divide to garner support for themselves. However, the neo-communists and socialists are now going a step further. What we see is the feminists from broken families, now seeking to usurp control by creating a rift in Indian society and values by promoting a gender war.

We should have 498B or N C M
Just because 1 in so many cases reported to police turns out to be true. and the rest are false cases of misuse of 498A, the NCW wants to stick to their guns.
What can be the reasons? Money by any chance? That is equally distributed under the table between all; once a huge sum is extracted from the Innocent Indian Husbands' pocket? As he wants to avoid jain get bail and protect the life and identity of his parents and family?
Okay so the femilitants of NCW do not want to Stop "Legal Terrorism" as termed by the honorable Supreme Court of India.
Then let us have 498B.

Why is N C W so women centric? Why it can be Human Centric? You should know this law is one of the most stressful law on a victim?
